Strengthening of marketing and technical support for IFAs nationwide

Fiona Tait

Probably best known as "Steve Bee's warm up act" on the "never-ending pensions tour" Fiona has been stepping out on her own during 2010, delivering over 80 seminars to IFAs and their professional introducers.

The journey towards pension guru-ette began in 1989 when Fiona decided to stop selling drugs* and start selling something more ethical instead.

She started in financial services as a trainee consultant for Eagle Star, served most of her sales time with Scottish Equitable and then became a founder member of their Sales Training team. In this role she spent 8 years training IFAs of all 57 varieties including specialists in the areas of pension planning, investment, tax and compliance.

Fiona joined Scottish Life as Pensions Development Manager in March 2004. She spent the first 12 months touring the length of the UK before taking time out to give birth to baby Robert and a new drawdown product for Scottish Life. The jury is still out on which was more painful, but she is glad to report that both are healthy and showing phenomenal growth. She is now back out on the road and looking forward to more train travel and interesting hotel rooms.

Fiona is qualified as a Fellow of the Professional Finance Society, and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. She presents on all areas of  pension planning, with a recent focus on at retirement planning, pension switching and the Retail Distribution Review.

Based in Edinburgh, Fiona delivers training all over the UK and usually spends most of her time in the gym trying to counteract the effects of too many hotel meals. Any remaining spare time is spent chasing after her now 5-year-old son so she really can't understand why she isn't 2 stones lighter!
