About our Business Development Manager, Jamie Clark

Strengthening of marketing and technical support for IFAs nationwide

Jamie Clark

Jamie is a self-confessed pensions geek with more than 20 years experience in the pensions industry working for various providers.

After joining Scottish life in April 1998 as a founder member of their Pensions Technical Support Unit, he became a key member of the group tasked with examining and interpreting the A-Day changes and communicating these both internally and externally. Whilst in this technical role, he created and delivered technical training sessions on A-Day and a wide variety of topical pensions issues to advisers independently and as part of the Steve Bee Seminars.

Specialising in occupational pensions and wider market strategy, Jamie issues a monthly newsletter to more than 1,700 subscribers and recently re-launched Scottish Life's well received salary sacrifice support material. He regularly writes for the pensions trade press on market issues.

As part of his new role as Business Development Manager, Jamie is tasked with assessing the impact of Personal Accounts on the pensions industry and working with advisers to help develop business strategies in light of this and other market changes.

Jamie is based in Edinburgh and lists his interests as making a noise with a guitar, rock climbing, the workings of the brain and keeping up to date with scientific discoveries.
