Established over 30 years ago, Barclays Global Investors Limited (BGI), a subsidiary of Barclays PLC, is today one of the world's largest fund managers. As one of the world's largest managers of index funds, BGI have a deep and unique knowledge of managing indexed mandates.

In 1971 BGI created the index fund - the first investment strategy allowing investors to efficiently invest in "the market" as an whole.
