Investment > Our Proposition > Managed Strategies > Benchmark allocations Benchmark allocationsFollowing the 10 September 2004 meeting of the Advisory Committee, set up to monitor and provide expert input into the way our Managed Strategies operate, Scottish Life agreed the benchmark asset allocations for each of the nine Managed Strategies. These benchmark allocations are effective now and are reviewed on a quarterly basis. Investment returns may fluctuate and are not guaranteed. The price of units can go down as well as up. Past performance is not a guide to the future. In addition to the above, the benchmark allocation for equities is split 55% in UK equities and 45% in overseas equities. During the initial period the benchmark used for performance measurement was adjusted to allow for practical difficulties in switching the assets in the funds to reflect the new benchmarks. We acknowledge that some investors don't naturally fit into these profiles - options outside of our Managed Strategies are always available. Three of the Managed Strategies are effectively met by the three Scottish Life Managed funds (outlined above in red).
Finally, when combining our funds together within a lifestyling strategy (also know as a Retirement Investment Strategy) you can be assured that each phase of the process remains appropriate for the changing time horizon and risk preference.
