Barclays Global Investors
Established over 30 years ago, Barclays Global Investors Limited (BGI), a subsidiary of Barclays PLC, is today one of the world's largest fund managers. As one of the world's largest managers of index funds, BGI have a deep and unique knowledge of managing indexed mandates.
In 1971 BGI created the index fund - the first investment strategy allowing investors to efficiently invest in "the market" as an whole. Since then, they have expanded their capabilities to include index funds that accurately and inexpensively capture the returns and risk of a broad spectrum of asset classes and investment styles around the world.
The breadth of markets that they invest in, and the diversity and quality of clients for whom they manage money, is testament to their ability to add value and gives them a global expertise that sets them apart from other fund managers.
