Scottish Life wins "Ultimate Default Fund" award

Scottish Life is proud to have won the highly respected "Ultimate Default Fund" award at the annual Corporate Adviser Awards held on 10 February 2010.

Scottish Life's Governed Range was nominated for the "Ultimate Default Fund" category by Jason Walker of adviser firm AWD Chase de Vere, who said that, in his view, the Governed Range provided "the choice, flexibility and governance that (is required) to meet client and adviser needs."

The Awards – voted by IFAs - recognise excellence in a number of corporate pensions categories for both advisers and providers.

Our Governed Range - delivers what advisers need

Since its launch in January 2009, the Governed Range has proved hugely popular with advisers and their clients with

  • 55% of all new individual Scottish Life policies taken out during 2009 invested in the Governed Range compared with 28% in 2008
  • 59% of new Group schemes in 2009 using the Scottish Life Governed Range compared with 55% in 2008. 1

How the Governed Range can help advisers

The Governed Range comes with comprehensive ongoing governance at no extra cost and aims to help make choosing and monitoring investments more transparent.

  • You can use our online risk questionnaire to determine the level of risk your clients are comfortable with. You can then match that risk level to an appropriate investment option.

  • You can add rebalancing or lifestyling to keep the investment choice constantly in line with your client's risk appetite. So even if you can't meet your clients every month, their investments will remain right for them.

  • We have a robust governance process and take responsibility for reviewing and monitoring all the investment options saving you valuable time.

  • You benefit from the expertise of a leading risk consultancy, Barrie & Hibbert, who provide input to our Investment Advisory Committee (IAC).

  • Our online service makes it simple for you and your client to see the lifestyle strategy or portfolio you've set up for them – and it updates automatically whenever our governance review changes any aspect.

All this helps you give your clients a genuinely added-value service while giving you time to see more prospects.
