About Royal London

Set up in 1861, Royal London is the UK's largest mutual life and pensions company with funds under management of £33.1 billion. Group businesses serve around 3 million customers and employ 2,620 people (figures as at 31 December 2007).

Royal London is about providing financial security at all stages of life. Most people will have a need for some sort of protection, whether that is to protect their income while they are working, insure their life to protect their family, protect their standard of living in retirement by saving into a pension or protecting their savings by investing in a capital protected product.

We believe that financial advice is necessary for almost all of the UK population. That's why we focus on distributing our products through financial advisers, ensuring our customers get the right products to suit their individual needs.

There are three distinct business units within Royal London; these are supported by group functions such as HR, finance, legal and IT.

Group Structure

Royal London Intermediary distributes products through independent intermediaries and comprises Scottish Life, Scottish Life International and Bright Grey.

Pension and retirement planning products are distributed through Scottish Life, while Bright Grey provides protection products. Scottish Life International offers protected offshore investment products.

Royal London Asset Management provides investment management services for the group's funds and for external clients.

Royal London Servicing was established in 2003 to ensure that providing an excellent and efficient customer service was the focus of all activity within our servicing teams.
