Scottish Life adds Brewin Dolphin to DFM panel on Pension Portfolio
26 November 2009
Scottish Life, the pensions specialist arm of the Royal London Group, has added Brewin Dolphin to their panel of discretionary fund managers (DFM), available as part of the self investment options within Pension Portfolio.
Samantha Scotland, Technical & Research Manager at Scottish Life, said:
"It's important that we offer access to a diverse and competitive range of investment options for IFAs and their clients. So we regularly review our investment offering and as a part of this a number of IFAs made a particular request to add Brewin Dolphin to our DFM panel.
"Some investors want the flexibility to invest part of their pensions savings directly in a range of investments, but don't want to the added responsibility of selecting and monitoring investments. The DFM Option gives them access to specialist fund managers who provide a professional investment service, taking the responsibility for the investments in the portfolio."
James Brooks, Head of Business Distribution at Brewin Dolphin, commented:
"Brewin Dolphin welcomes the opportunity to support Scottish Life's intermediaries and clients with our award winning Discretionary Service.
"Brewin Dolphin believes that the right Discretionary Manager can help further strengthen Scottish Life's position by offering an even greater choice to clients with a pension management service that is specifically designed to suit each individual."
Brewin Dolphin joins Cazenove Capital Management, Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management and Rathbones on the Scottish Life panel.
The discretionary managers augment the Pension Portfolio proposition by carrying out the investment research function and providing a portfolio management service, which in turn enables advisers to focus on the financial planning needs of their customers.
